Christine,

I have been short of breath since the beginning of my first trimester (I am now at 34 weeks). I was told that the shortness of breath can be hormonal as well as the baby putting pressure on the diaphram. Your body is producing a lot more blood which expands the blood vessels. The blood vessels in the lungs can become enlarged as well causing the feeling of being short of breath. I hope I am explaining this correctly, it was a while ago that I asked the doctor about this and my poor brain is in slow mo. lately.

Good luck Amanda
