An abnormal 1 hour glucose challenge test (GCT) only tells the doctor to do a 3 hour glucose toleance test (GTT). The 1 hr GCT does not make the diagnosis of Gestational diabetes.

Cheese and crackers, or any protein complex carbohydrate combination is much better for smoother glucose regulation that juice or any simple carbohydrate supply. The latter will allow the blood sugar to go up precipitously and drop just as rapidly, creating a vicious cycle.
