Hi. I think that it is riducules that this was done to you. Most episiotomys are performed and are not medically necessary. I am sorry that this happened to you. My sympathys go out to you. After i had my daughter i was in pain for about 3 months from the epistiotomy and my sister who just had a baby with no epistiotomy 8 weeks after i had my daughter was not in any pain. She said that she wasn't even really sore. My epistiotomy was done before even seeing if it would be necessary, I wasn't even pushing yet, he just performed it. I think that this is a pretty routine procedure regardless if it is needed or not. I am pretty much normal now though sometimes it still hurts where i had the episiotomy done after sex and it has been 3 years. Good Luck
