Cindy, I do not know the answer regarding the sugar levels but I am wondering why your doctor would diagnose gestational diabetes from the 1 hour glucose tollerance test. I too recently failed the 1 hour test but was then sent for the 3 hour version. You are put on high carbohydate diet for the 3 days before the test. You can eat nothing for 12 hours prior to the test. Then you go in and drink glucose syrup (the lab technician said it was more concentrated than the one used in the 1 hour test). They take intial blood and urine samples and then blood every hour thereafter. I did great on this test. In my case the first test appears to have been in error (I suppose thats why they did the more extensive testing). So I wonder why your doctor did not run this test before diagnosis. Perhaps one of the doctors will respond. Hope this info helps, Nancy
