Twin pregnancy, light spotting, small uterine seperation. Impending miscarriage??From: Jody (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Aug 1999 14:38:30 -0500 (CDT)
I am only 6 weeks pregnant and I have experienced two instances of light spotting, seperated by a week's time. Both times, the spotting was so light it did not need a pad and both times ultrasounds showed a normal twin pregnancy. My u/s yesterday confirmed two live pregnancies in two seperate gestational sacs each with a heartbeat and fetal pole. However, the ultrasound technician found an area that she said may be a tiny seperation between the uterus and one of the sacs. Is this a sign of impending miscarriage?? My doctor was on vacation and the nurse simply advised me to rest and refrain from intercourse, so I feel as if I have no information on my condition. I have been experiencing mild pain on my right side, which my doctor said is from two ruptured corpus luteum cysts. The fluid was visible on the ultrasound travelling to the left. Today, my left side has been hurting mildly. Could that pain be from the fluid? I would really appreciate any response you can give. My husband and I are very worried, especially since I suffer from chronic hypertension and thyroid disease (both controlled by medication).
