Painful episiotomy scarFrom: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Aug 1999 23:35:15 -0500 (CDT)
It's been almost 5 months now since I have my son and I'm still in pain!! I had a third degree episiotomy and the doctor was in a huge hurry. He got mad at me because I was so tired of pushing (after 4 hrs!) I couldn't do it any more. He pulled my baby out so hard I could still feel it. I know you are supposed to feel some kind of pressure, but this was more than pressure considering my legs and body were so numb I couldn't control them at all. When he was stitching me, he was pulling so hard I felt my body being pulled downward. My husband and I have not been able to have sex for about 3 months now. I tried in the beginning a few times thinking it would go away and it never has. I've been to 3 doctors and 2 midwives. The first doctor (the one who delivered my baby) told me there was nothing wrong and it was all in my head and I should try sex games with my husband. He also said he would like to send me to a sex therapist. THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM! So I went to another doctor who said in 10 yrs of practice he had never seen this before and I should give him two weeks so he could research this. Well, two weeks came and went so I called and went to see him (not knowing he was good friends with the other dr) He had the nerve to tell me I had Chronic Vulvar Vestibulitis Syndrome. I know, I have no clue what those words mean either, but I can tell you from the description that comes with it, THAT ALSO IS NOT THE PROBLEM! He had the nerve to put me on antidepressants and said the get rid of the pain fibers. So now, I need to find another dr (preferably a woman) so I can get this resolved. I need to find out if this has happened before or if this is dr error. I also need to find a dr that knows about this and can fix it. Please help me I'm getting desperate (and so is my husband) Thanks!
