high risk pregnancy??From: Misti (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Aug 1999 18:22:26 -0500 (CDT)
My sister-in-law just found out that she is 10 weeks pregnant. She has a son who is only 5 MONTHS old. Of course, this is a big surprise to her and her husband. What are her risks? She had a rubella shot right after delivering her son. Her son was not quite three months old when she conceived this second baby. Is this baby at risk from the rubella shot? She has a very good OB and we are all praying that this baby is ok. An ultrasound was done at 10 weeks, I guess to check for birth defects. The OB says everything looks good. Is my sister-in-law's body going to be able to handle this? What other factors should we worry about? If she makes it through the fist trimester do the risks decrease? Keep your fingers crossed for us. We all are looking forward to another baby in the family, but we are worried and in shock that it happened so soon! Thanks for any input or encouragement!
