normally ovulation occurs 14 days before the onset of menses. so if a woman has a 28 day cycle and you count the first day of menses as the first day of your cycle then you should ovulate on the 14th day after the start of menses. however if you have a 30 day cycle you should ovulate on the 16th day after the onset of menses. when i decided to bedcome pregnant i found a book at my local library "Natural Family Planning" (or something like that) it was written for couples choosing to use the rhythm method of birth control. i used the info in this book to determine my ovulation and it only took three months! (lucky me) there are ovulation prediciton tests on the market, but i have no idea how expensive they are. i am out of town at the moment but i may have some info at home about herbs that way help. however, before you take ANY herbs (esp when possibly preg) be VERY careful about researching their side effects. herbs are natural products and are often safer than their pharmecutical counterparts but they do have side effects adn dangers of their own.

good luck,
