Re: What are my options? It really seems hopelessFrom: Julia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Aug 1999 15:29:44 -0500 (CDT)
Dear Millie, I am in a very similar situation. I've also had 3 m/c's (in 2 years), the 1st and 3rd one were both 6 weeks, had spotting, low HCG values and no pregnancy symptom. The 2nd one was 9 weeks, but u/s shows only developed till 6 weeks and no fatal heart beat. Sometimes I start to wonder if I am really pregnant. It ended so quick every time. There is very few thing my doc could say and I wan't given any treatment. I was in bedrest the 3rd one but obviously didn't help. You can try a RPL specialist. I went to see one and was put on a work-up program, a serious of tests were performed. However, in my case, my doc didn't find anything wrong, he told me causes can only be identified in less than 50% of RPL patients. Among the rest, many carry a full term later w/o any treatment. It's a very frustrated situation. I do not know what to do besides keep trying, I was told by my RPL specialist that I still have 60% of chance to sucessfully carry a full term (I am 31). I am wondering how many people out there w/ early m/c history end up w/ a healthy baby. Unfortunately, this doesn't seems like an area medical community is paying attention to. I am feeling hopeless even though I keep telling myself I still have hope.
