Nerve injury during delivery causing drop-foot Anyone?From: Celeste (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Aug 1999 10:28:58 -0500 (CDT)
During my first vaginal delivery my baby pressed on a nerve in my pelvis causing damage to it. It resulted in a condition called "drop-foot". I couldn't flex my foot upward and it would dangle when I held it up. The condition resolved after about a month. I had one other vaginal delivery after this and I had a little bit of numbness in my leg and foot but no loss of movement. Has anyone ever experienced this? To the docs-- Has this ever happened to any of your patients? I'm pregnant again and still concerned.
