A friend of mine had an ectopic 4 weeks ago. There is a long horrible story behind this but I'll spare you. They didn't discover the ectopic until 1 week after a D&C done for what they thought was a uterine miscarriage. They put her on MTX. She has been taking it for 4 weeks and is still experiencing pain and bleeding. Her doctor seems non-plussed. Is this normal? How long should this take to resolve? Second, this is her second loss in as many pregnancies. She has received no help, advice or referrals from her Ob/gyn on what may be causing this or how to possibly resolve it. Should she be asking for a referral to a RE or other specialist? She is borderlind hypothyroid but unmedicated and has other metabolic problems. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA, Karen
