1 vein and 1 arteryFrom: Sheila (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Aug 1999 12:22:22 -0500 (CDT)
My 19 year old daughter had a baby that weighed only 2lbs and 11 oz, this was a full term pregnancy, she did not once see a docter while she was pregnant. Problem is his umbilical cord only contained 1 vein, and 1 artery, please explain if this will cause any problems other then very low birth weight? Will he have any problems growing up? I was told he had pulmonary hyper tension, what is this and will he be able to live a normal life? I have never heard of anything like this, dont know what to expect.
