Re: 3D Multiplanar EndometriumFrom: Terry (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 22 Aug 1999 08:50:35 -0500
Dear Kamuran Erkey: I am referring your question to the Pregnancy&Birth Forum. It is more appropiate there, and other women can benefit from the discussion. The Ultrasound Section Forum is for professionals only to discuss the use of Sonography. I believe you will get better responses from P&B. While I am not a physician, I am a sonographer; let me see if I understand you situation. You had sonography with the following results: -- Day after menses = total endometrial measurement (double layer) -- Day 15 = 5,4 mm (5.4 mm) -- Day 17 = 7,1 mm (7.1 mm) -- Day ?? = 9,3 mm (9.3 mm) Your endometrium appears to be growing in the menstrual cycle which is expected, though it may be slightly thinner than normal. With out seeing the images and knowing the experience of the person measuring it is difficult to say this is not normal. I would expect the measurement of the total (double thickness) endometrium to be more like: -- Days 10-13 = 4 to 8 mm -- Days 14-28 = 10 to 14 mm Below are some other Sections of OBGYN.net where you can get more inforamtion. You will also find physicians on these Sections that can better answer your specific questions. http://www.obgyn.net/infertility/articles/infertility_perloesills.htm http://www.healthlibrary.com/reading/pregnant/Chapter8.htm http://www.obgyn.net/infertility/infertility.htm http://www.obgyn.net/pb/pb.htm I also recommend an infertility specialist, a Reproductive Endocrinologist. Your personal physician should be able to best answer your questions. Good luck getting pregnant. Peace, Terry J. DuBose, M.S., RDMS Chair, Ultrasound OBGYN.net
