Tanya,

Like Cindy said, it is pretty early to tell if your having a miscariage or not.. but if the bleeding slows or stops, thats a wonderful sign.

I spotted with my son and thought it was my period.. well it was implantation bleeding. This very well could be what your experiencing.. they can do some blood tests on you to see if your levels are increasing.. this will help tell you if the pregnancy is progressing. I know how scarey it is.. I have been a nervous wreck my entire pregnancy. You will know if your having a miscariage (well I should say for the most part you will) some people have missed miscariages where the baby passes away and for whatever reasons never miscaries on its own. But if your bleeding heavily and clotting with real bad pain, chances are things arent meant to be. Just lie down and try to relax. If things hold up for a few more weeks I would say your going to be ok. At 5 weeks its 50/50% chance of picking up a heart beat. Some women are not as far as they thought. Hang in there ok?
