The baby's umbilical cord is connected to the baby's belly button, on the mother's side it is connected to the uterus. The Mom's belly button is not connected in any way to the baby. When the Mom was a baby in her Mom's (Grandmom's) uterus, her belly button was connected through an umbilical cord to Grandmom's uterus. There is no belly button to belly button connection.
