Hi! I had a lot of pains with my first pregnancy also. Mine were side pains - something the books I read didn't talk about but apparently are quite common. They felt like stitches from when you run - but I wasn't running! They never went away & even kept me up a lot of nights because of the constant pain. They were from the ligaments etc growing.

I know these aren't the type of pains you are experiencing but stay with me. I also had a lot of period type cramping for the first three months (dur the uterus etc growing) and they are quite common also. When you are pregnant you can get a lot gas pains & constipation. These are probably what you are experiencing. A lot of women feel that they are showing when in fact it is just gas (as disappointing as that is!). You will probably notice them coming and going a lot in the coming months!

Good luck! Michelle
