However, I do have another question - Did you have the AFP or the Triple-Test during your pregnancy with him? And if so, I'm curious as to what the results were. Will you be having the test with this current pregnancy, will you have more tests?

Yes, I did take the MSAFP and everything came back perfect for Elliot.
At the time, we were so relieved. I'll be having it done again with
this baby on Wednesday, but I'm not sure if relief will be my feeling
when the results come in. Oh well, perhaps next time!

As for other tests, since there were no chromosal abnormalities discovered with Elliot, we elected not to go through extensive genetic testing. The reassurance I need is just beginning now that I'm getting to a gestational age that baby is becoming more viable outside the womb, if anything were to happen (God forbide!). I'll have more frequent u/s and fetal monitoring (regular bpp's, color scans for blood flow, etc.) Up until now, it really has been a waiting game because the reality is if something were to go wrong prior to the gestational age of mid-to-late week 20's, there isn't much they could do anyway. Although I have been watched closely for IC and PTLC.

Thankfully, I'm now at 19 weeks and counting down, down, down . . . !
