Anyone please....G6PD defiency of spouse and anemic mom--miscarriageFrom: simone (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 8 Aug 1999 14:52:08 -0500 (CDT)
We recently found out that my husband has a G6PD defiency where there could be destruction of the red blood cells if certain medicines are taken, food or vit. k. leading to anemia. I am also quite anemic and have had a recent pregnancy loss due to abruptio placentae. My husband was on a medication at the time of my conception and I am wondering could the genectic abnormality be linked to the development of the fetus or in other words could the fetus develop hemolyctic anemia while in the womb. Also, I would like to try again and have had a complicated gyn history with multiple surgeries. How long would you recommend that i wait before trying again? Is it possible to tell if the unborn fetus is anemic. I am rh neg and he is not. I would really appreciate your reply and i thank you and welcome any input that you may have.
