Early pregnancy and alcoholFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 6 Aug 1999 13:34:47 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and have been very happy and healthy overall. I am just a bit concerned about the possible consequences of my behavior BEFORE I discovered I was pregnant. I discovered I was pregnant with a home test the day after missing my period. Several days later my doctor told me the blood test came out positive and that the HCG level indicated I might be two weeks pregnant. What I am concerned about is that before the home test date, I drank alcohol a couple of times... more than 4 drinks per night. I am worried that I may have done some damage to the pregnancy at that time. While I have been healthy and have had normal ultrasounds since, I can't help wondering if I should worry about the first week or so of my pregnancy. Any reply would be gratefully appreciated.
-- Thanks,
