HELP Low amniotic fluid.. 31 weeks?From: GT (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Aug 1999 12:23:18 -0500 (CDT)
Drs, I really need your help im very nervous. Brief history I had preterm labor signs at 17 weeks and was put on brethine 2.5. Anyhow I took this on an as needed basis. As the pregnancy progressed the pain got worse. At 29 weeks I was upped to 5mgs of brethine and here I stand at 31 weeks. I went in for a second opinion for a uterine monitor to find that my baby had low levels of amniotic fluid. He said it was right on the borderline. Now I am terrified something is really wrong. I was scared with all the pain I was having but now this? His kidneys looked good, heart, and the ultrasound was perfectly normal other then the amniotic fluid. I am under tremendous stress and not sleeping well with the pain and worry. My doctor said maybe all the meds were causing this and I go in for a stress test. Please help with any info you may have on this. Is this a severre problm with the baby? What would cause this?
