Anemia in preganacyFrom: Nikki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Aug 1999 09:28:33 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. A little "back" history. I gave birth by c/s 12/14/98 - so I have a wonderful 7 month old baby now. I am also pregnant again ( at 20 weeks now) and due 12/18/99. The babies will be almost exactly 12 months apart to the day :-) Here's my concern: I have been eating ice! I get a cup of ice (crushed) and chew on it. I did the same thing last year about this time when pregnant w/ Kaitlyn. I didn't think too much of it - just a "pregnant" thing. I'm not dehydrated, as I drink lots of fluid during the day also. But, I read somewhere that ice chewing is a sign / symptom of anemia. Does anyone know if there is truth to this?? Any articles out there?? Should I let my OB know on the 17th when I see him?? Am I crazy?? :-) Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
