3 and a half weeks ago at a regular prenatal check up, my ob was unable to find a fetal heartbeat w/ dopler, and confirmed w/ ultrasound that the fetus had died at 8-9 wks. He suggested waiting for spontaneous miscarriage...which I have done, but after 2&1/2 wks of waiting I scheduled a D&C for this week (tomorrow, in fact). I am having second thoughts...perhaps I should just wait it out. Is the risk greater in having the d&c? What are the chances of damage to uterus/future infertility? Waiting, day by day, not being able to plan past today, and most important, not being able to finish grieving for this baby were my reasons for scheduling this procedure. HELP!!! Any thoughts? Q.
