Re: Atypical uterus

Hi Rose,

That certainly sounds like an interesting situation! Although I can't answer your questions regarding increased risk of ms, etc, I would tend to think not. Seems to me that you might have a more uncomfortable pregnancy, though, as the uterus expands and settles into a more "usual" position for baby to grow. Probably more ligament pain, etc.

However, I think it would be wise to now go to a laparoscopy because it could be that you have endometriosis that is "binding" one side of your uterus down. Even a small amount of endo can affect fertility adversely. I had the laparoscopy and it wasn't all that bad. I'm a *big* chicken when it comes to medical proceedures, it was the first time I had anesthesia at all! The worst part of the whole thing was when the nurse pulled my stitches out of my sore belly button about a week afterward. She took out two with me holding my poor belly, and thought that was all when doc examined me and asked if she took out three(!), she had to "dig" for that last one and it was quite unpleasant. I'm so glad that's over with! My results came back perfectly normal (thankfully), and I have the full color pictures to prove it. (UGH, not pretty!).
