How long should I try to conceiveFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Jul 1999 10:27:46 -0500 (CDT)
I am wondering how many months (or cycles) I should try to conceive before I take the next step. I have been charting my temperatures and timing intercourse for the three days before ovulation. This is the third month trying and I have not conceived yet. I have heard that you have a 25% chance of conceiving in any given month. Does that mean that the average person would take 4 months to conceive? Finally, what should my next step be? I have been checked out and the OB/GYN thinks I should have no problem conceiving. So, should the next step be to have my husbands sperm count checked? I am worried about that because he raced bicycles for 8 years (riding approx. 450 miles a week) and I have heard that it can affect a man's sperm count. So many questions... Thank you for any help you can provide.
