A birthplan formed in alliance with your obstetrician or midwife is your best bet. This is a process of negotiation, whereby both you and your doctor come to a plan that satisfies both of you, with respect to safety and comfort. If the plan is to work, you both need to feel that this is a mutual thing, not imposed from either direction.
