I had a very emotionally bad experience having my daughter. I had no control over any thing that was being done to me. No one asked if doing any of these things to me(constant cervical checks, iv's, having to lay in a wet bed while my water was leaking because the nurse wouldnot let me wear a pad, having cervical checks without the nurses asking any one in the room to leave, getting an episiotomoy without the doctor so much as telling me what he was doing.) was al right. I am considering having a home birth for my next baby, yet I would feel safer in a hospital. What are my rights as a patient and how do I avoid these things in the future.
