Absolutely tell your doctor about your wishes. Doctors know what they are doing, but that doesn't mean that's what you want or the best. I have come to consider myself to be the expert on my body and the doctor to be a consultant. The best treatment, in my opinion, is a combination of your knowledge about your body and your doctor's knowledge of medicine. If he takes it the wrong way, find another one. You have rights as a patient.
