chances of survival at 30 weeks gestation?

My question is, what are the chances of survival of a baby born at 30 weeks gestation? I hear they are fair but in this 2 part question, what are the common complications that occur when a baby is born this early?

My baby has dropped at 30 weeks and they tell me the head is right there at the cervix. I can feel the pressure and when the baby moves it hurts. Also having contractions and on brethine will have cervical measurements in a week. Insight is greatly appreciated.
