I checked out a great book called, "Eat Well, Lose Weight While Breastfeeding" from my La Leche League library. Having done the Weight Watchers program before, I used some of the practices (like keeping a food diary and checklist) to help keep on track. It wasn't until I started real exercise, however, that the weight began to come off in earnest. My best advice is to combine a modified diet with exercise. Your doctor may be able to help you find an exercise professional who can get you started on a sensible exercise plan as soon as you're ready after your baby is born. I started with a walking program and progressed to jogging then to running. I've never felt as good as when I'm running, and was able to continue running (well, jogging, really!) 25 miles a week up until about 7 1/2 months into this pregnancy. Best of luck! You can do it! (BTW, I nursed my son until he was 3 years old -- and that included training for 2 marathons!)
