BCPs & FertilityFrom: Nancy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 Jul 1999 12:42:55 -0500 (CDT)
My DH & I are trying again after a recent miscarriage. A friend of ours, a pharmacist, told us that I should go back on the pill for a month or so to regulate my cycles and told us that you are your most fertile the cycle after you stop taking the pill. Why is this so? If this is true, should my doctor have recommended that I go back on the pill for a few months before trying again? This may be a dumb question, but...could you not take the first two weeks worth of pills and have the same effect? Would your odds of getting pregnant be better this way or would you still be preventing a pregnancy? Thanks.
