Re: Baby's head low, numbness when sitting?From: Marshella (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 8 Jul 1999 15:20:17 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I fall into the "everyone" category. :-) I've heard that the numbness is completely normal. If you think about it, it makes sense. The baby's weight or at least, head, is resting on some nerves there or blocking blood flow when in that position. Have you tried putting your feet up? On a footstool, stack of books, or straight out on another chair? That would probably help. As well as frequent breaks to walk around and get your circulation going again! Also be sure to keep moving those legs. Just rocking them side to side or back and forth or flexing your feet all the time, as often as you think about it, will probably do worlds of good for you and baby. Anyway I don't know much on the position issue, though it does seem to me that the baby should be higher at 28 weeks, but everyone's body and every baby is different! Mars (due 2/10/00 with numero uno!)(28 weeks seems soooo long off!)
