Uterine fibroids causing high-risk pregnancyFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Jun 1999 23:56:04 -0500 (CDT)
I am a doula with a new client who is on bedrest. She is due Oct. 6, 1999 with her first baby. She is on bedrest due to cramping and bleeding from uterine fibroids that are complicating her pregnancy. Her doctors have told her that they do not expect her to go to term. Rather, they expect her to deliver by the end of August. I am interested in knowing more about this condition in order to support her better. I would also like to know if she can expect to deliver vaginally, or most likely will be facing a caesarean section. We are meeting for the first time in a week, and I would like to be prepared for her questions. I look forward to your responses!
