The Postpartum YearFrom: Connie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 Jun 1999 21:03:40 -0500 (CDT)
I must be the only one on earth with these postpartum symptoms. Can anyone help? Heres my story. I have 5 children. It seems about 3 months after I give birth I start to feel exhausted. If I exercise, my muscles don't recover like they should (the muscles I exercise hurt for at least a month). My hands swell and hurt so bad that in the morning I cannot use them. I can't bend my fingers or straighten them. My feet, legs, and arms also hurt also in mornings. The evenings are better and I can finally function. I cannot lose wieght. I normally weigh 120, but the postpartum year I weigh around 160- 170. My ANA is 1:640. I retain water.I have been to different Drs. Thyroid checked - ok. Checked for Rhuemitoid Arthritis said I didn't have it. Drs have no answers. (They have put me on steroids, Zoloft, Celebrex and more)After the babys first birthday the symptoms gradually go away. Then I would feel great until the next postpartum year would come.I should mention my childrens ages are 22, 20,16, 2, and 9 months. I have all the symptoms right now and I am hopeing they go away this time too. They seem worse this time. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thank you. Connie (mart@friendlynet.com)
