Brethine safety in pregnancyFrom: GT (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 22 Jun 1999 22:55:59 -0500 (CDT)
Ok, Im confused. I have been on brethine for 9 weeks now. I started at 17 weeks and am currently 26 weeks. I have been taking it for preterm labor contractions. This drug has helped me alot with major pain. I have been reading some frightening information from some people stating that there child is learning disabled or has speech difficulty. This scares the hell out of me basically and I have asked just about every Dr on the internet about this to get absollutely no replies. I had to take this medication and now I am so worried that I have permanently damaged my child. Is there anyone out there who has taken brethine long term like myself and had a completely normal child? If so please email me at gtob@att.net with your stories. I am currently on 2.5mg every 6 hours. Any information anyone can give me would be of tremendous help. Thanks so much
