Re: Dr thinks I have a kidney stone. . .

I'm not so sure now that I have the right doctor. I dont' feel he did all he could by just sending me home with pain pills and antibiotics. I'm trying to convince my husband to switch doctors. And what's this with it striking in the middle of the night?! That's when mine started also. My doctor wouldn't send me for an US either. Have you had any more? I think part of the reason my doctor didn't have me admitted is that I have a really high tolerance for pain, and when I was in his office he made the comment that I wasn't acting like someone who was passing a stone. . . I think he thought it was just some small particles. But just a few hrs later out came an 1/8" stone. At least I know I won't pass out during labor (we hope) :-)

I was given anibiotics, p[ainkillers, and a referral to go the next day for a renal and pelvic ultrasound. My doctor then saw me two days later on a Saturday (and he does not have Saturday hours). While it was scary, my experience assured me that I had the right doctor. It's painful, but once it's passed, it feels much better.
