I unexpectedly became pregnant while on amitriptyline five years ago, and immediately stopped as soon as the home test was positive. When I saw my docotr, however, he said there was nothing to fear, but since I was doing okay without it, not to resume it until the end of my first trimester. I never did resume it because my symptoms (severe recurrent tension headaches) stayed away for most of the pregnancy. Hope this helps.
