Dr's or anyone, please give me your advise, I am scared!From: Chelsey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 15 Jun 1999 08:46:44 -0500 (CDT)
I had my baby girl a month ago and last week I noticed a little lump on the right side of my neck near the throat area. It is a little swollen and tender, but not painful. I went to see a general practioner and he told me it was an over-reactive lymph node probably caused by being pregnant or because I am breastfeeding. He took my blood and it is all normal. He told me that I would probably have to have it removed. I went to my OB-GYN yesterday and told him about it and he told me that he felt it and if it was not gone by next week he wants to get me into see an Ear, Nose and Throat dr or a surgeon. I am really scared and was wondering if this is a normal thing in pregnancy or could something really be wrong with me? Should I get another opinion from a different dr? I trust my OB completely, so I would hate to question him, but this is really hard for me to deal with on top of having a new baby to care for. Please let me know if you have heard of this before or if it something that can happen after a pregnancy. Thanks, Chelsey
