heart calcifications and ultrasound questionsFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 9 Jun 1999 19:55:27 -0500 (CDT)
at 30 weeks, we just had our 4th ultrasound today. for the 2nd time, calcifications have been found in the heart...one in each ventricle and one on each valve(4 total). unfortunately, a good view of the heart was not accessible, so we are left with many unanswered questions. i would appreciate any follow up to any or all of my following concerns: 1. we would like to know all the possible outcomes with the calcifications. the doctor has mentioned the possibility of down's and/or malfunctioning of the heart. what are some of the specific things we COULD encounter? 2. what are the other things we should be looking for and asking about re: the sonogram data? i've noticed other mesurements taken at ultrasounds, but am not sure which ones are relavant to our circumstances...what should we ask?(i.e. fliud, limb measruements etc) thanks for your time...we really hope this forum will be helpful for us :)
