Incompetent CervixFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 4 Jun 1999 16:53:14 -0500 (CDT)
I had a laser surgery done on my cervix for dysplasia about 6yrs ago and a LEEP done about 3yrs ago. I asked my doctor today if this could cause a problem with my pregnancy. He didn't seem overly concerned and said we'd just "watch it" and he'd take a look in a month when I come back in. He also mentioned something about checking the cervix when I have my next sono done in 6 weeks. OK, so now. . . does this sound like something I should fret and worry about or not? After I had my laser surgery done, the doctor told me she couldn't even see where it had been done. . . The leep left a little scar tissue, apparent when I went to have a hysterosalpingogram done, just inside the opening of my cervix. I have heard that this condition is usually discovered after the woman miscarries. . . I don't want to find out that way!! And when does that normally happen? Thanks for your help.
