Cerebral ventricle

I am 20 weeks and 5 days pregnant and had an ultrasound done yesterday (June 1, 1999). Everything was normal except for the right lateral ventricle which was measured 9 mm and the coroid plexus was displaced from the median line. The "AVL/AH"= 0,62 (I donīt know the English translation for AVL/AH; I live at the moment in Spain, so this abbreviation might be Spanish). I will have another US at 25 weeks.

The fetusīsize is 1 week bigger than its actual age (21 weeks and 3 days). I had an amniocentesis done which was normal.

My question is: what are the possible consequences of an enlarged ventricle (braindamage??) and are there any statistics about babyīs born with a high normal lateral ventricle and there development?

I share the same worries and fears like all other parents who are dealing with this problem. It is extra frustating to NOT find any answers in this forum from any MD. I understand that it is difficult to give an answer because so much is maybe still unknown. But we parents have the right to a full picture of possible consequences for the development of the baby. This way we can oversee the situation much better and make a possible decision about abortion.

I greatly appreciate any response, especially responses to my questions.
