Re: Leaking amniotic fluid at 17 weeks? Thanks Dr. Hill!From: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 29 May 1999 17:55:58 -0400
Thank you Dr. Hill for replying in such a timely manner. I did call my doctor and she wants me to monitor the situation. I still feel some dampness but she is hoping, like you , that it is just a small leak and will heal itself. I am to page her immediately if I begin to leak more and soak a panty liner more than I have. Thank you again for taking the time to answer my question. However, you may actually have a leak in the water bag, which is an extremely serious situation this early in pregnancy. If one of my patients called me with the history you gave, I would have her meet me at the hospital ASAP and I would perform a thorough evaluation for a possible broken water bag. I would strongly suggest that you not try to figure this out at home. It is a potentially serious situation and your doctor will be happy you called so he or she can look in to it. Best wishes,
