Pool safety in pregnancy

I've seen the comments about how the pool helps reduce swelling. I have found this very helpful. The only downside I've had is that I have to pee like crazy when I get out of the water. I guess all that retained fluid is moving!

My question is this: is there any real safety concern about swimming alone while I'm pregnant? There are lots of evenings that I would like to get in the water, but I am a little reluctant when hubby is not home (he travels on business). No rational reason, just some sense that it might be dangerous.

thanks, Andrea EDD 7/7/99
