Is it common for pelvic exams to be more painful during pregnancy that normal? I have had 3 pelvics during this pregnancy, and all have been more painful than usual. The last on at 31 weeks was really painful. Will these just get more painful as time goes on? I remember that the cervical checks during labor were excruciating. Why are pelvics during pregnancy more uncomfortable?

I just started seeing this doctor during my pregnancy, so I don't know if it's just him, or if the increased discomfort is common.
