Can mother's blood pressure affect fetal heart rate?From: Adam (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 7 May 1999 12:49:33 -0500 (CDT)
My wife has pregnancy induced hypertension. We have a home health nurse come to our home every day to check everything including the fetal heart rate. We have found that the past couple of days, our son's heart rate has been 160 when it has been consistantly 130 for the whole pregnancy. This is also coinciding with my wife's increase in BP. She is also noticing that he is not moving when his heartrate is this high. Not to say that he doesn't move, but he is not moving at the time that his heart rate is being monitored and he always moves when his heartrate goes up. Is there something we should be doing? Shouldn't an increase in heart rate coincide with fetal movement?
