Ambivalent Doctor ?

Hello. I am due to deliver in 11 days, and throughout my entire pregnancy I've been researching, following message boards, newsgroups etc. My concern is that my pre-natal care has not been particulary thorough.

I have had no problems, other than elevated blood pressure, and some swelling here towards the end. I am wondering if my "low-risk" pregnancy has made my OB and family doctor ambivalent.

I'm definately not a hypochondriac! but I'm bothered that I have been told nothing about my pregnancy, even when I ask specifics, it's one word answers. I have had 1 ultrasound at 19wks. The glucose test, and the pap/rectal test for bacteria (?). Umm..that is it, other than the usual urine test for protein each visit. It is only now that I am being checked "weekly" with only 11 days left...

My question is, should I have had another ultrasound? How about an internal exam? I have never had an internal with this entire pregnancy. I have no idea if I am dilated, or whether that is something that must be known in advance of obvious labour signs.

After this pregnancy I will be changing doctors, since I do not want my baby cared for laissez faire style.

Should I have been more adamant about having more "procedures" done?

Thanks in advance.
