*If* you are pregnant, implantation would occur roughly 10 days past conception. A woman ovulates around 14 days BEFORE her period. Prime fertile time is the five days prior to and including the day you ovulate.

Some women, and I am one of them, notice pregnancy symptoms very early. Symptoms you may notice include: swollen tender breasts (with visible large blue veins), fatigue, increased urination, and nausea.

Home pregnancy tests are very accurate if used correctly. They can detect a pregnancy as early as the day of or the day after a missed period. However, the pregnancy test works by detecting the amount of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in your urine. If the level is low, a pregnancy test may not show positive until a few days or more after your missed period.

A blood test in a physicians office or clinic could detect a pregnancy as early as 8 days after ovulation. This test works the same way but blood is used instead of urine and the test is more sensitive. You could go to your doctor, local Public Health Department, or Planned Parenthood for this test.

In the future, if you have an incident like this and do not want to become pregnant, you can go to your doctor for emergency birth control. But you must do this within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

Good luck to you. Please let us know how things turn out.
