clomiphene and Levonorgestrel (progesterone only pill)From: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Apr 1999 00:01:48 -0500 (CDT)
Ok, here it goes, I have been to my Dr again, and this is now my fourth month on Clomid. The first three months, I had 50mg, and only ovulated on the first month (cycle), the rest of the cycles I did not ovulate at all. Temperatures were all over the place! My blood work also suggested that I had not ovulated. My progesterone level was 0.3 on the 21st day of my cycle (23rd April) considering my last period only lasted for about 30 minutes, the 21st day was an estimate due to such a short menstrual flow. That last period was on the 4th April. I have not had one since. I am now about to take clomid again. This time at 100mg. The Dr has also prescribed Levonorgestrel to help my progesterone levels go up. I am taking 1/4 of a tab for four days, then having a blood test to see if my levels have been boosted up. Then commencing Clomid after the four days on levonorgestrel, (Clomid-100mg a day for 5 days). Continuing on with Levonorgestrel 1/4 of a tab until possible ovulation and implantation has occurred. This probably makes no sense at all, but I was wondering, after all of this rammbling, if this is a visable way to go about falling pregnant. Afterall, taking a progesterone only pill seems to be contradicting the clomid, although, I guess progesterone is important for a proper functioning of the corpus leutium and for implantation to occur.....I need another opinion basically, and I am looking to you Doctors for it, I am just unsure I guess, I am due to go for an appointment at an RE in late June, and I just don't want to waste another minute, We are resonablly relaxed, compared to how we started off, and are just hoping that a miricale will happen soon or a later...Why would it be that with 50 mg of Clomid I did not ovulate for the second and third cycles? Will 100mg make much difference? Thank you very much in advance to anyone who can provide me with some answers....
