I am 11 1/2 weeks pregnant and have a severe ear and throat infection (10 days already)with a chronic cough. I can't sleep or breathe at night and find myself only able to rest sitting down. I went to Urgent Care and was subscribed:

Amoxicillin 500 mg (Antibiotics) Naldecon DX (for dry, hacking cough)

The doctor at urgent care said ok, my ob said ok but the pharmacist wasn't real sure that it was safe to take at 11 1/2 weeks of pregnancy. And of course, the family wives-tales all say absolutely not. I just wanted to hear someone else's opinion. HELP! Thanks.
