head engagement and baby movementFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 26 Apr 1999 12:44:30 -0500 (CDT)
I have read some literature that suggests baby's movement slows down around term. I have noticed a decrease in my son's movement in the last 2 wks but still enough when I count it.(he used to be active ALL the time) Would position of the baby cause it to be very difficult to find baby's heartbeat with a doppler at 40wks? Finally this is my 2nd baby. Is it unusual to be 40wks and baby's head not be engaged? I was hoping all the walking I was doing that baby's head was causing some dilation and effacement. Thanks for any info...just getting discouraged I guess.
