Any advice would be great help!!! Hi Nikki, You certainly don't appear to have any contraindications to attempting a VBAC. The chance of rupture is there, but it is very small. What about the risks of complications from major surgery, which is what a c-section is? I would feel uncomfortable with this and would sit down and talk it out with the doc. If he isn't comfortable with letting you labor while monitored, and you aren't comfortable with a repeat c-section (without good cause, which he hasn't shown), then you owe it to yourself to find another healthcare provider. I had a VBAC just over a year ago and did negotiate on some aspects with my doc (saline lock instead of an IV, telemetry unit for monitoring while mobile instead of being stuck in bed). Fortunately :) my labor was quick - arrived at the hospital at 4:30pm and daughter was born at 6:09pm and there wasn't any time to put in the IV/sal. lock or hook me up to any monitor because as soon as I changed into the lovely gown, I went into the bathroom and didn't come out until it was time to push! Yeah, there is definitely something to be said about laboring on the toilet! Please talk to your doc and let us know what he says. Good luck!
